What is Recovertendo?

Recovertendo is a new generation of injectable medical solutions uniquely designed for the management of pain and reduced mobility caused by tendon disorders. As a Class III infiltrative medical device, it combines Bio-Adapted Hyaluronic Acid (BHA™) and Collagen Tripeptide (CTP)—constituents naturally found in the body and known for their beneficial effects in soft tissue repair and regeneration.

As a viscoelastic gel formulated for peritendinous and/or synovial sheath injection, Recovertendo exhibits physical properties that contribute to its effectiveness. With a molecular weight range of 2.8–3.6 MDa and a neutral pH level of 7, it is bioadapted to function optimally within body tissues.

Hyaluronic acid, a primary component of the extracellular matrix in tendons, provides structural support and promotes tissue repair in the event of injury, while also possessing properties that help minimize inflammation.

CTP, a small peptide derived from amino acids, stimulates collagen production, aiding in the restoration of the structural integrity of injured tendons. Collagen serves as the primary structural protein in tendons, providing necessary strength and flexibility.

Through the synergistic action of HA and CTP, Recovertendo is designed to alleviate pain, act as a lubricant, and improve the mobility of injured tendons by reducing adhesions, while aiming to support the healing process. This optimized blend is packaged in either 1ml or 2ml pre-filled glass syringes encased in a rigid blister for secure transport and application.

Collagen Tripeptide (CTP)

Collagen is the primary structural protein in tendons, providing essential tensile strength and resilience. Recovertendo incorporates synthetic Collagen Tripeptide (CTP), a minimum unit of collagen consisting of three amino acids (approx. 1/1,000th the size of a general collagen peptide). CTP plays a critical role in tendon health and repair:

  • ECM and Fibrillar Structure Synthesis: Contributes significantly to the synthesis of ECM components and the establishment of fibrillar structure.

  • Biomechanical Support: Supports tissue biomechanical properties through the upregulation of elastin (for elasticity) and integrin (for cell adhesion).

  • Anti-inflammatory Effect: Mitigates the inflammatory response following injury to expedite recovery.

  • Role of Amino Acids (Glycine, Proline, Hydroxyproline): High prevalence of glycine helps inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases, while Pro-Hyp and leucine enhance collagen secretion in tenocytes.

  • It features a soft tissue residence time of approximately 150 days, based on a half-speed/half-life of 30 days.

 

Dosage and Application Frequency

Recovertendo is an injectable medical solution designed for the treatment of pain and reduced mobility caused by tendon disorders. The recommended application frequency and dosage may vary depending on the anatomical region being treated:

  • Lateral Epicondylalgia (Tennis Elbow):

    • Application Frequency: 2 injections, 7 days apart.

    • Dosage: Supplied in 1ml or 2ml pre-filled glass syringes. The volume per injection is determined by the treating physician based on the patient's condition.

  • Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy:

    • Application Frequency: 2 injections, 14 days apart.

    • Dosage: Determined at the discretion of the physician (1ml or 2ml per injection).

  • Ankle Sprains:

    • Application Frequency: 2 injections, 2 days apart.

    • Dosage: The physician determines the appropriate volume per injection.
